Toronto BIAs

Welcome to Old Town Toronto (formerly St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood)!

Located in the heart of historical Old Town Toronto and steps from the financial district, the Hockey Hall of Fame, Air Canada Centre, Union Station, the Waterfront and the Distillery District, the Old Town Toronto BIA (formerly St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA) is a unique area where old and new co-exist; where heritage buildings stand alongside modern condominiums and businesses.

Home to the famous 209-year-old St. Lawrence Market and the new North Market that houses the popular weekend organic farmers market (Saturday) and Vintage Market (Sunday), our area is a daily destination for gastronomic adventures. Old Town Toronto has Toronto’s largest concentration of historic architecture including the Flatiron Building, St. Lawrence Hall, St. James Cathedral and the original 10 blocks of the Town of York. With more than 7 live performance theatres, quaint shops and the King Street East Design District (the largest collection of fine home décor and design stores), charming restaurants and bustling pubs, 6 city parks including Berczy Park (and it’s famous dog fountain), St. James Park, Crombie Park, the historic sculpture garden and Victorian Garden, it’s easy to comprehend why we’re described as both hip and historic.

Annual events in the area include Music in St. James Park summer concert series, Active in St. James, History Comes Alive in Old Town Toronto re-enacting scenes from life 200 years ago, historic artisans, the Feast of St. Lawrence food festival, Theatre in St. James Park, Berczy Beats, I Heart Market Street, the Old Town Toronto Pumpkin Parade, and the Cavalcade of Lights in Old Town.
