The terms and conditions outlined in the following Privacy Statement apply to users, viewers and all people who access the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) Web site (www.toronto-bia.com). To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

Your privacy is important to us. We will never sell, borrow or rent information provided to us.

Providing Visitors with Anonymous Access

You can access our Web site home page and browse all pages of our site without disclosing your personal data. All information provided is on a voluntary basis.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the TABIA Web site. Personal information is collected when you voluntarily register to receive TABIA’s email newsletter. If you choose to register you will be required to provide TABIA with your name and email address.

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide about yourself to complete your request for information. We do not share this information with outside parties.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

You can register with our Web site if you would like to receive our email newsletter as well as updates on events in Toronto’s Business Improvement Areas. Information you submit on our Web site will not be used for this purpose unless you fill out the registration form.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our Web site and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our Web site but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Although we do not knowingly collect personal data from children, we also do not take specific steps to protect the privacy of children who disclose their personal data to us. How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

If you would like to add or remove yourself from our email newsletter distribution list your may do so at any time by visiting the News & Events page of our Web site (www.toronto-bia.com/news). Prior to being added to our distribution list, a confirmation email will be sent to the registered email address. You must follow the instructions contained within the email for your request to be completed. We use this procedure to verify your identity. If you would like to be removed from our distribution list, click on the unsubscribe link on the News & Events page and complete the form. To change your information, you must use a two step process: 1) remove yourself from the list (as above) and 2) add yourself with the correct information.
