Liberty Village BIA
Innovation and culture connect in Liberty Village
Once a jumble of factories that drove the industrial era, Liberty Village is now a centre of entrepreneurship and creativity. Known for its unique live/work environment and interesting architectural character, Liberty Village is one of Toronto's newest destination spots.
This walkable, campus-style community is located just west of downtown Toronto at King and Dufferin streets. It is accessible by TTC, GO Transit, and Toronto's waterfront bicycle and pedestrian routes.
As the first non-retail BIA in Canada, the Liberty Village BIA, located just west of downtown Toronto at King and Dufferin streets, represents the 5,000 employees of the nearly 400 high tech, arts, design, entertainment and media businesses found in the area. The LVBIA champions and nurtures this vibrant community by sponsoring programs and activities.
The annual Give Me Liberty Afterwork Party takes place on the second Thursday in June and gives the people who work, live and play in Liberty Village an opportunity to meet their neighbours.
BENCHmark, an initiative unique to Liberty Village, transforms old park benches into permanent works of public art.
And, the LVBIA's SafeWalk program means that late-night workers and business patrons don't have to walk alone. An escort to a parking lot, the TTC or another business in the area, is a phone call away.
Liberty Village has changed from desolate to desirable and the changes keep happening.
